A few words on the election

Well I’m gutted at the election result. We worked our socks off but unfortunately it just didn’t happen. Elections are funny things, they are snapshots in time. If this one had been a week earlier I fully believe we would have won two seats. It seems there was a major swing back to the mainstream parties all round. One block of people wanted to get Fianna Fail out, while the other wanted to keep Fine Gael out.

Unlike Michael McDowell however, Joe Higgins, Clare Daly and the Socialist Party will not be going away. We’re going to be working as hard as ever to represent the interests of Working Class people. No doubt we will be leading an anti-water charges campaign in the near future.
